Chris Armstrong

Managing Director

Chris graduated City University, London, in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Civil Engineering. He began his career in England as a tunnel engineer. Chris returned to Barbados to work as a design engineer with D. M. Simpson and then Structural Systems Ltd.

Chris started Contract Services Ltd. in 1986 – a company that specialized in project management and design. In 1994 Shelbury Construction Inc., a subsidiary of Contract Services Ltd. was incorporated.

David Armstrong

General Manager

David graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2013 at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. After graduating, David returned to Barbados to work at Shelbury Construction and has been managing large scale projects such as Gildan and Sandals Barbados.

Trevor Lucas

Project Manager

Trevor started his construction career as a carpenter in 1997 and worked his way to Maintenance Manager at various different hotels around Barbados. He later joined the team at Shelbury Construction as a Foreman. His hard work and dedication earned him the position of Project Manager.

Trevor specializes in high intensity fast jobs and takes pride in everything he does. He has been a great asset to the company and continuously makes the impossible possible. Some high intensity jobs Trevor has managed are Cave Shepherd in Bridgetown, Sandals and Oceans 2.

Bradley Goodman

Quantity Surveyor

Brad graduated in 2005 from the University of the West of England in Bristol, UK with a BSc. Honours degree in Quantity Surveying. He has work experience in both the UK and Barbados.

Brad brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and has been a valuable member of the Shelbury team since 2012. He is very professional and works closely with all of our Project Managers to keep within each project’s budget.

Derek Walker

Senior Foreman

Derek strives on and excels at high intensity jobs. He played a vital role in the completion of St Winifred’s three story classroom block that had to be built in only 8 weeks. He also was one of the Senior Foreman at Sandals Resorts, another high intensity construction project.

Derek started as a carpenter in the construction industry and has worked his way up to Senior Foreman. He has been a key team member at Shelbury for the last 18 years and going strong.

Anthony Waldron

General Foreman

Anthony who is also known as Tony, has been a part of the Shelbury Construction team for over 15 years but overall has been in the construction field for 25 Years. Tony has worked on a number of projects from Banks Breweries to Holetown’s Boardwalk. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each project that he is a part of. Tony specializes in the laying out of new builds, always creating a solid foundation.

Adrian Rose

General Foreman

Adrian is the true definition of a perfectionist. He has an excellent eye for finishes and the fine details and continues to prove it with every job he does. Adrian works extremely well under pressure and tight time frames, making him a valuable team member and showing what Shelbury Construction is capable of.

He has worked on a variety of construction projects, from Villa St. Lucy and Casa de Pablo which are two luxury villas to Flow’s new corporate building and Cave Shepherd’s flagship department store in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Dave Jordan

Small Works Supervisor

Dave has been working for Shelbury Construction for over 15 years. He is a highly motivated team player and has the ability to effectively multi-task. Dave has excellent communication skills, this coupled with his knowledge helps bring the job in on time and on budget.

As the Small Work Supervisor, Dave communicates directly with the clients to ensure that they are 100% satisfied. He has worked on a variety of jobs, all the way from Sheraton Car Park to Oceans 2, Barbados.

Roger Downes

Painter Foreman

Roger has been a member of the Shelbury Construction team from the company’s conception. He has proven himself a hard worker over and over. Roger has an impeccable eye for finishes and takes pride in being neat and orderly.

He has worked on nearly ever one of Shelbury’s projects, from Oceans 2 to luxurious houses, ensuring that clients are satisfied with all of the painting finishes.
